Teaching Philosophy

We pride
ourselves on our professional approach to our equine-assisted therapy. Our goals are:
|
|
Because of our program and class size, we are able to assess each rider’s potential and observed growth.
Parents are encouraged to share with Program Director, Joy Simon, their objectives for their riders as well as any IEPs, therapy evaluations and goals, doctor recommendations, etc. This ensures that our riders get the most out of their scheduled time.

Our means of achieving our goals include lesson plans tailored to each group’s needs; a team approach to provide consistency, positive reinforcement and encouragement towards independence; and an “open door” policy between staff and parents.
It is our greatest pleasure to provide these services and to work closely with parents, riders and volunteers to achieve success for all involved.

Communication
Communication is important as we work together to increase the abilities of our riders. Parents/guardians, as well as riders, may have information that could benefit a rider’s potential. Please share your thoughts with us. Any concerns should be directed to Joy Simon.
